Detailed Biography

Muhammad Shan is a young Pakistani road cyclist who has progressed from U23 national competition to representing Pakistan in the Elite category at an Asian championship.

According to the official Asian Cycling Confederation records, Shan was born in 2002 and has the UCI identification number 10119344235.

Early National Competition

One of the earliest clearly documented records of Shan’s competitive career comes from the 2023 Pakistan U23 Individual Time Trial Championship.

At that event, he finished fifth in the U23 time trial. The result places him among the young Pakistani cyclists competing at national level during the early part of his career. The same year, Shan was competing for SSGC. In June 2023, he finished third in the Swat Mingora to Malam Jabba Cycle Race, a road race that attracted around 50 cyclists from different regions of Pakistan. SSGC reported that its riders took all three podium positions, with Abdul Razzaq first, Rizwan second and Muhammad Shan third.

Moving Into the Elite Category

By 2025, Shan had moved into Pakistan’s Elite men’s cycling category.

The Pakistan Cycling Federation selected him for the country’s team at the 2025 Asian Road Cycling Championship in Thailand, held from February 7 to 16. Shan was one of four Elite Pakistani riders named for the competition. The official Asian Cycling Confederation documentation confirms his participation and lists him as a Pakistani rider born in 2002.

National Championship Success

His strongest documented domestic result came in February 2025.

At the Pakistan National Road Cycling Championship, held over 121 kilometres in Islamabad, Muhammad Shan finished third.

Ali Ilyas won the national title, Umar Farooq finished second, and Shan took third place. The result was recorded in the Elite men’s category.

This podium finish established Shan among the leading riders in Pakistan’s national road championship that year.

International Experience

Representing Pakistan at the 2025 Asian Road Cycling Championship gave Shan international exposure against riders from across Asia.

He entered the Elite men’s road race alongside fellow Pakistani riders Muhammad Farman, Ali Ilyas and Rizwan Usman. The race was contested over 172 kilometres. The official results list Shan as DNF, meaning he did not finish the race.
